SCHOOL TRIP TO NEW JERSEY
From the 19th to the 27th of May, a group of students from the first year of Bachillerato participated in an amazing school exchange programme with American students from New Jersey. Our students were hosted by American families. They treated them as family members, involving them in activities, excursions and household chores. By staying with friendly host families, our students could improve their communicative skills, and at the same time know their culture as part of a totally immersive experience.
We would like to thank the American families and the students and staff from Pascack Valley and Pascack Hills High School for their hospitality.
The Brooklyn Bridge, built between 1869 and 1883,
connects Manhattan with New York's most populous borough, Brooklyn. The bridge
is one of the most famous and magnificent landmarks in New York City.
Central Park is New York’s largest
urban park and one of the biggest in the
world, with 843 acres. This park is home to artificial lakes,
waterfalls, meadows and wooded areas. You will also find the Central Park Zoo, among other attractions in
this greenspace of New York.
Times Square,
the most bustling square of New York is known for its many Broadway theatres,
cinemas and electronic billboards. It is one of those places that make New York
a city that never sleeps.
Fearless Girl is a bronze sculpture by Kristen Visbal, depicting a girl facing the Charging Bull (or Wall Street Bull) statue. Fearless Girl is meant to
"send a message" about workplace gender diversity and encourage companies to recruit women to their boards. The
plaque below the statue states: "Know the power of women in leadership.
SHE makes a difference"

SCHOOL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME
Participating in a foreign
exchange programme, offers teens a once-in-a-life time chance to immerse
themselves in a new culture, get to know a new family, and experience a
different part of the world.
Some of our students from the first year of Bachillerato,
hosted some American students from New Jersey, and experienced the rewards of
assisting them in obtaining the cultural experience and educational
opportunities associated with such programmes.
We are so proud of you. Thank you very much indeed.

Toledo: the city of three cultures
Toledo was the medieval capital of Spain before the kings moved their court to Madrid. It’s one of the most famous cities in the country because of its diverse history. It is called the land of three cultures because the city is divided into multiple neighbourhoods: the Jewish quarter, the Muslim quarter and the Christian neighbourhood.
Our students went back in time in the wonderful Toledo and discovered its three cultures. We fell in love with the panoramic views over the city and the Tagus River

WELCOME TO THE THEATRE
Hotel
Canterville
1st grade,
secondary - 4th grade, secondary
Our
first and second year E.S.O. students went to Leganés to attend a theatre play
in English language.
Strange things happen at Hotel Canterville. To begin
with, Elvis, the owner is slightly eccentric. He likes rock and roll and his
blue suede shoes. On top of everything the guests have to put up with the
arrival of Dick and Whacko Vizioso, two disastrous gangsters escaping from the
police. When Elvis and the gangsters meet chaos is guaranteed. Frights and
laughs are the order of the day as the audience participate in this new comic
adventure inspired in Oscar Wilde's classic ghost story The Canterville Ghost.
Thank you guys for your really kind cooperation.
